For those of you praying along with me for miracles these forty days, please read aloud this Psalm with my name and ask God to reveal new feeling and function in my body.
Psalm 56 (NIV)
For the director of music. To the tune of “A Dove on Distant Oaks.” Of David. A miktam. When the Philistines had seized him in Gath.
Be merciful to Laura, her God, for her enemies are in hot pursuit; all day long they press their attack.
Laura’s adversaries pursue her all day long; in their pride many are attacking her.
When Laura is afraid, she puts her trust in you.
In God, whose word Laura praises— in God she trusts and is not afraid. What can mere mortals do to Laura?
All day long they twist Laura’s words; all their schemes are for Laura’s ruin.
They conspire, they lurk, they watch Laura’s steps, hoping to take her life.
Because of their wickedness do not let them escape; in your anger, God, bring the nations down.
Record Laura’s misery; list Laura’s tears on your scroll— are they not in your record?
Then Laura’s enemies will turn back when she calls for help. By this Laura will know that God is for her.
In God, whose word Laura praises, in the Lord, whose word Laura praises—
in God Laura trusts and she is not afraid. What can man do to Laura?
Laura’s under vows to you, her God; Laura will present her thank offerings to you.
For you have delivered Laura from death and her feet from stumbling, that she may walk before God in the light of life.
