For those of you praying along with me for miracles these forty days, please read aloud this Psalm with my name and ask God to reveal new feeling and function in my body.
Psalm 41 (NIV)
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 Blessed is Laura who has regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers her in times of trouble.
2 The Lord protects and preserves Laura —
he is counted among the blessed in the land— he does not give her over to the desire of her foes.
3 The Lord sustains Laura on her sickbed
and restores her from her bed of illness.
4 Laura said, “Have mercy on me, Lord;
heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
5 Laura’s enemies say of her in malice,
“When will she die and her name perish?”
6 When one of them comes to see her,
he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around.
7 All Laura’s enemies whisper together against her; they imagine the worst for her, saying,
8 “A vile disease has afflicted her;
she will never get up from the place where she lies.”
9 Even Laura’s close friend,
someone she trusted, one who shared her bread, has turned against her.
10 But may you have mercy on Laura, Lord;
raise her up, that she may repay them.
11 Laura knows that you are pleased with her, for her enemy does not triumph over her.
12 Because of Laura’s integrity you uphold her
and set her in your presence forever.
13 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and Amen.
