What a ride.
3500 people coming together to worship Jesus.

There’s nothing like Easter Camp. And what a privilege to be invited backstage where they adjusted this year to have a ramp to elevate the voice of a disabled woman and let me share a part of my story in the middle of camp to show how God shows up for us in the middle of our struggles.

Honestly, this week had even more chaos than last week when we get into it, but I don’t have it in me right now. I just got home a couple of hours ago and have to hang my laundry. Also, I’m exhausted and a bit car sick from driving the mobility scooter over speed bumps in the rain for five days.
The bigger takeaway should be that I’m spent physically and emotionally for the sake of the kingdom and have never been so humbled as the moment Mike gave the call for responses while I was backstage after my message. I could only see a sliver of the audience, but multiple young people stood up. I teared up as I listened to the next response as Mike asked the crowd if anyone wanted to give their life to Jesus and heard the roar of the body of Christ celebrating those young people making a brave and beautiful decision.
Eleven years ago, I felt like God told me I was going to testify, to bear witness of the good he’d do in my life. I had no concept of Easter Camp or even going to New Zealand at that point. Yet this Saturday I sat on a stage before a crowd bigger than I ever dreamed and told them I just wanted to pee like a normal person – and that I believed God was beside me through this wild journey.
How beautiful to be a part of the work of the Holy Spirit and to share a stage with people like Hannah and Mike and James and Allen and Jess and Michael and Satellite. These incredible people love Jesus and want to see lives transformed. What a privilege to be invited onto that team.
Praise the Lord !! Hallelujah !! He is Risen from the dead !! Jesus is alive and is powerfully at work by his Holy Spirit in NZ and around the world. You must be on cloud 9 today Laura. Wishing you some good rest and sleep this week as you recover from putting in so much effort for travel, the Easter Camp and your visa challenge. Love from Jan & Alec.
Thanks Laura for your commitment to Jesus, the youth of New Zealand, and the many others you touch each day.
