Sweet Dreams

When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a school teacher. Then I grew up to live better than my dreams by teaching incredible students in Germany. I also developed insomnia in high school, and it stuck with me post paralysis.

I’ve had a rough week not being able to sleep normal hours, and it’s messed with my beautiful system of walking regularly. Fortunately, I don’t have much on my schedule in the mornings, so I can take it easy and sleep when I can find my body lets me, but because of the insomnia, I don’t have many happy reports of physical progress.

I can tell you I must be off sabbatical because I’ve continued to have a stream of students in my house with tea and conversations about everything under the sun. My job is better than I could ever have dreamed of as a kid, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to encourage young people. I’m not always great at it, but I’m certainly better when I’m well rested. I hope you’ll forgive the bland post this week and join me in praying that I sleep well tonight and get back on track with some incredible stories for next week.
