I love my job.

I have the privilege of being the safe person for a lot of people working through trauma. That covers a range of things when you work with teenagers and young adults, so sometimes it’s just angst and drama of growing up, but sometimes it’s pretty heavy stuff. I came into my Friday programme having heard a number of hard things that just weren’t the usual drama from across the spectrum of my ministry life.

Because I work with sensitive content and vulnerable people, I can’t share a lot of those details on the internet.

However, my teammate recently shared a CT article from a few years ago that still is painfully relevant to the work I am doing. The data on ACEs is particularly relevant as I work with monocultural youth in a low socioeconomic status and TCKs from the spectrum of missionary kid to diplomat kid.

So while I don’t have a flash story for you on what I did with my week, here’s a good article on TCKs and trauma featuring my friend Michèle.

And if you need a little more entertainment factor, here’s the latest episode of my podcast. I think it’s pretty good, and we talk about gritty stuff but also Larry Norman lore. You know my dad raised me right.
